This breathtakingly spacious Bijar presents a dynamic contrast between chiseled, extremely precise patterns delightfully combined with a free-spirited drawing style that revels in the beauty of spontaneous asymmetries. The dark Egyptian blue medallion is an impressive shape; the right and left sides look like the outlines of fantasy castles. It contains an asymmetrical, highly charged version of the ancient Herati pattern. Pendants of a vast scale are attached by a bright ivory “double axe” motif.
